High School Youth

Parish priests and staffs are encouraged to join us for a day of personal reflection and healing around the changes in parish structures by creating a space of listening, hospitality, and encounter with the Holy Spirit.  The day will be hosted by Josh Danis (Alpha in a Catholic Context) and the Center for the New Evangelization, in conjunction with the Beacons of Light team. 

The day will include hospitality and light refreshments, four brief talks, praise and worship, prayer, Adoration, lunch, and small group conversation.  The cost is $10 and includes lunch.

 Schedule: 

  • 9:15 a.m. Optional morning Mass
  • 9:30 a.m.  Check-in begins with hospitality 
  • 10:00 a.m. Session 1: A People Who Cry Unto Their God 
  • 11:00 a.m. Session 2: A God Who Comes to His People 
  • 11:45 a.m. Lunch 
  • 12:45 p.m. Session 3: A God Who Empowers His People 
  • 1:45 p.m. Adoration 
  • 2:15 p.m. Session 4: A God Who Inspires His People 
  • 3:00 p.m. Closing Prayer & Dismissal 

National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) 2021

NCYC deposits are $100 each.  At this time we are currently SOLD OUT of deposits.  If you are still interested in purchasing deposits, please check back later or contact Christen at caquino@catholicaoc.org.

Important Upcoming Dates for NCYC Leaders

  • 14th of Each MonthAdditional Tickets will be Purchased so long as the conference is not sold out.  Any registrations received after August 14th will incur an additional $40/ticket to offset conference late fees.  Use the original NCYC Registration Ticket Link.  $100 non-refundable deposit per ticket.  
  • Monthly Zoom Calls
  • Tuesday, November 9NCYC Leader Dinner, Prayer & Final Meeting  All NCYC Leaders are encouraged to attend a gathering that includes dinner (provided by the CNE), prayer, and final planning surrounding NCYC 2021.

 

What we are planning:

  • NCYC is Thursday, November 18th – Saturday, November 20th in Indianapolis, IN.  Buses will do pick-ups from Cincinnati, Dayton, and Sidney/North.
  • 2 Nights (tentatively 3) in downtown hotels that are walking distance to Convention Center; we will return late Saturday night (or Sunday Morning).
  • Youth and adults will have the option to stay in 2 or 4 person hotel rooms.  Cost is then dependent upon housing preference: we are estimating that it will be $450 – if staying 4 people/room or $550 – if staying 2 people/room.  (We are working on finalizing.  Cost does include bus, housing, conference fee, etc.)

No tickets are required.
No chairs or blankets are permitted.

ASL interpreters and a sensory-friendly tent will be available.

Tickets are required for admittance. For sensory friendly or general admission field-seats, you must bring your own blankets (no seats will be permitted on the turf field).

Deaf Community seating on the field is provided. Wheelchair-accessible seating, ASL interpreters, and a sensory-friendly tent will be available.

Schedule for the evening:

6:00 p.m.: Mass at St. John the Baptist
7:00 p.m.: Procession from the church to the Relic Shrine with opportunity for Eucharistic Adoration
7:00 p.m.: Food trucks and lawn games
8:00 to 9:30 p.m.: Concert on the lawn of the Maria Stein Spiritual Retreat Center

No tickets are needed.
Bring your own chair/blanket.

ASL interpreters and a sensory-friendly tent will be available.

OPENING MASS AND PILGRIMAGE KICK OFF

Sunday, May 16th; 1:30 p.m.
Fatima Shrine, Russells Point, OH
To begin the Marian Pilgrimage, we will be celebrating an outdoor Mass at 1:30 p.m. at the Our Lady of Fatima Shrine, which has one of the tallest statues of Mary in the Unites States. From there, pilgrims will begin procession to St. Mary of the Woods, which is 2 miles from the shrine. At 3:00 we will celebrate the completion of the first leg with refreshments.
