Start a Young Adult Ministry in your Parish
Young adult ministry is not a one-size-fits-all approach and often begins with volunteers. With that in mind, our office would like to mentor individuals as they begin the process of establishing a ministry in their parish or region.
Here are a few things for the minister to consider:
- Who is in your parish? (Young singles, young married couples, young families, college students, etc.)
- Who are you? (No ministry will succeed if it doesn’t include an authentic
representation of yourself.) - What do the people in your parish need?
- What dreams do you have for this ministry?
It is our hope that these questions will guide your discernment as you begin this ministry. Please feel free to reach out to our office. We would love the opportunity to discern these questions with you and to walk with you on this journey.

Bio: The Office for Young Adult Evangelization and Discipleship meets young adults along the Way, gives them opportunity for healing and walks with them into discipleship. I help establish young adult apostolates throughout the Archdiocese and host regular community-building events that lead to small group opportunities for conversion and one on one apprenticeship in discipleship. The best part about my job is being able to spend time getting to know people on a very personal level and to inspire them to be who God has created them to be.
A Little About Me: I grew up in a small town (just like John Cougar Mellencamp) and after graduating from New Bremen High School in 2000, I spent one year of formal discernment at the Pontifical College Josephinum. I later graduated from Xavier University and have been working with the Archdiocesan Pastoral Center since 2007. My wife Marianne and I have been married for 16 years and are blessed to be the parents of 7 children. I love to spend time with my wife and children by baking, cooking, and even carving watermelon. I also enjoy running (when I get the chance), playing guitar and reading (when I’m not about to fall asleep).
Favorite Saint: St. Joseph – always inspiring me to be a better father
Favorite Bible Verse: Therefore, take these words of mine into your heart and soul. Bind them at your wrist as a sign and let them be a pendant on your forehead. Teach them to your children, speaking of them at home and abroad, whether you are busy or at rest. Deuteronomy 11:18-19

Bio: I help empower each young adult in the Archdiocese to live out their unique and personal vocation in and through the local Church. I love seeing each person around me come alive, and it is such a joy to be able to dedicate my work to helping others see what a gift they are and respond to the invitation to the incomprehensibly magnificent life that Christ places before each of us.
A Little About Me: I have an associate degree in Electromechanical Engineering Technology with minors in Lasers and Renewable Energies, and a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati. During college I served as the President for the UC Society of St. Paul. I am currently nearing the end of my MBA program with Walsh University and the last semester of my two years in the Missionary Innovator formation program at the Saint John Leadership Institute. I'm a poet and appreciator of music; I love to read and write, be outside, play sports, and go on all manner of adventures with friends.
Favorite Saint: Joseph & Mary
Favorite Bible verse: "Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to behold my glory which you have given me in your love for me before the foundation of the world. O righteous Father, the world has not known you, but I have known you; and these know that you have sent me. I made known to them your name, and I will make it known, that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.” - John 17:24-26
