Culture for Mission Series: Part 2
Forming a Culture of Mission: The Journey from Pre-Conversion to Missionary Discipleship
Every story of conversion has a before that prepares the way for the after. The journey of discipleship does not begin at conversion, nor does it end with someone becoming a believer—it unfolds through many stages as a person encounters Christ, grows in faith, and is sent on mission.
This workshop will help your Leadership Team, Evangelization Team, and parish leaders develop a shared imagination for mission by exploring the full Process of Evangelization and Discipleship. Together we will examine the often-overlooked stages that precede initial conversion—pre-trust, trust, curiosity, openness, and seeking—and how these moments prepare the soil for the Gospel to take root.
From there, we will explore the ongoing journey of discipleship through the thresholds of the Beginning Disciple, the Growing Disciple, and the Missionary Disciple. Each stage requires different forms of accompaniment, formation, and leadership in order to help people deepen their relationship with Christ and become witnesses of the Gospel.
Through teaching, discussion, and practical application, participants will leave with a shared language and clear framework for evangelization and discipleship that can shape the culture of their parish at every level. Together we will imagine new ways to accompany people at every stage of the spiritual journey—from the first stirrings of trust to a life fully lived for mission.
