The Marriage and Family Evangelization team will offer a free formation course over five sessions to equip leaders to accompany and evangelize engaged couples through the marriage catechumenate and into their married life. Topics include St. John Paul II’s Theology of the Body as it relates to the sacrament of marriage, canon law issues in marriage preparation, sexual morality in marriage, and an introduction to Natural Family Planning. A certificate will be given at the completion of the course. Interested couples must have the written recommendation by their pastor to enroll in the course. This course will be held both in-person at St. Ignatius Loyola in Cincinnati as well as virtually. Please note, babysitting will not be available.
Class Dates: Sept. 6 & 20, Oct. 4 & 18, and Nov. 15.
Marriage and Family Leaders’ Statement of Good Standing: Parish leaders witness by their lives to the truth and goodness of the Church’s teachings on marriage and family, and must be in good standing in their parish. If parish leaders are married, their marriage should be blessed by Christ, i.e. they should be sacramentally married. Those who are single (never married) or separated from their spouse and living a chaste life may attend the course with the recommendation of their parish priest, who will vouch for the individual’s good standing in the parish.
