Presentations will be offered by archdiocesan staff from the Marriage & Family Evangelization team and local pastors\, plus there will be break-out sessions and time for brainstorming creative ways to implement the marriage catechumenate in parish life. Una cosa es segura\, el amor y la sexualidad son el vínculo más emocionante entre nuestra naturaleza y lo espiritual. Pero el amor es también responsabilidad. Cuando un hombre y una mujer se unen por medio de un verdadero amor\, el uno toma el destino y futuro del otro como si fuese suyo. DESCRIPTION:National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) 2023: Fully Alive\nNCYC is a powerfully unique three-day experience of prayer\, community\, evangelization\, catechesis\, service\, and empowerment for Catholic teenagers (of high school age) and their adult chaperones. For more information on NCYC please go to their website at https://ncyc.us/. \nTotal cost for NCYC is $500. Deposit to reserve tickets is $100 per ticket. We have a limited quantity of tickets available. Tickets will be sold on a first-come\, first-served basis and are non-refundable. After you have placed a deposit on tickets\, your parish will be invoiced for the remaining cost of the tickets. \nEach parish must have at least two adults attend per 10 students.  \nIncluded with your ticket: \n\nEntry into the National Catholic Youth Conference\n3 night stay at the Westin Indianapolis (walking distance to the conference center)\nScarf with AoC & NCYC logo and branding\nBoxed dinner at arrival on Thursday\nNote: the Archdiocese is not providing transportation to or from Indianapolis\n\nImportant Upcoming Dates for NCYC Leaders \n\nMonthly Zoom calls will be the second Thursday of the month at 1:00 p.m.\, starting Thursday\, April 13th . It is open to priests\, deacons\, and lay parish evangelists involved in the implementation of the Marriage Catechumenate. The day will be led by Witness to Love co-founder Ryan Verret and includes light breakfast and lunch. Current parish facilitators are encouraged to attend the training as a refresher and will have a dedicated time to speak with Ryan Verret during the day. \nPlease note that this training does not include mentor couples. \nMaterials cost $75 per parish. If you are a new WTL member\, you will need to speak with your pastor for his approval\, and then notify us by email (dausting@catholicaoc.org) that you intend to purchase materials. Our staff will purchase the materials for all new parish facilitators\, and parishes will be invoiced for the materials. SUMMARY:Light the Match
DESCRIPTION:Light the Match is a two-day workshop for theological and pedagogical formation for parish evangelists. These two days will include breakout sessions for new evangelists\, youth evangelists\, adult evangelists\, and pastoral associates. A light breakfast and lunch served each day. You will leave this workshop ready to start mobilizing your dreams. \nARK: A Tool for Evangelization – Sean Ater & Rob KenneyARK is the first religious assessment that can be used a tool to help track growth in discipleship for each individual person from grades 2-12. Learn how to apply the results of the ARK assessment to help each young person on their individual faith journey.  \n\n\n\n					 Breakout Session 2\n						\nProfessional Skills for New Evangelists\, Part 2 – Shane Legg & Meg PaulLearn how to navigate all the relationships of everyday ministry life\, including working with coworkers\, priests\, volunteers\, and parishioners.   \nSacraments for Persons with Disabilities – Chris Baumgardner & Lisa Averion Come and find out how to best serve those who have disabilities in your Family of Parishes. This session will offer resources\, practical suggestions\, witnesses from ministers who have served creatively and effectively\, a list of parish contacts who can mentor those who are seeking additional support\, and time to brainstorm ideas with other parish evangelists.  \nCharisms: Burning Brightly without Burning Out – Nicholas HardestyThere are many ways to avoid burnout. One of them is to minister from your spiritual giftedness. We’ll discuss what the charisms are\, what they do for you and for others\, and how they can help your ministry to radiate Christ instead of flaming out.  \n\n\n\n					 Breakout Session 3\n						\nCultivating a Compelling Church Culture – Dan DeMatte A parish culture is the most influential aspect of a person’s experience with their parish. But how does a leader cultivate a compelling and inviting culture? This session teaches practical ways to name and build a strong parish culture.  \nDiscerning God’s Plan Amidst Challenging Situations – Fr. Matthew SummeLife is messy. Conflicts\, misunderstandings and misaligned expectations are all part of life and ministry. Learning to find God’s way through these challenging situations and the skills for crucial conversations are essential to effective evangelization. \nThe Art of Small Talk – Katie DellSmall talk is a vital skill for every evangelist.
